About Us
Who Are We ?
The Gesabakwa Elderly Care Initiative is a transformative movement dedicated to restoring dignity and autonomy to the elderly population across Kisii County by shifting the narrative from passive dependence to active socioeconomic contribution. Recognizing that our seniors are the vital pillars and living archives of our community, we implement a holistic framework that fosters financial independence through community-led savings and investment networks, combats social isolation through structured support hubs, and bridges the gap between our elders and essential local development services. By empowering our members with the tools, financial literacy, and collaborative resources necessary to build their own prosperity, we are not only alleviating poverty at the household level but also ensuring that the growth of our region is inclusive and honors the contributions of those who paved the way. Ultimately, our mission is to redefine the aging experience in Kisii, fostering an environment where every elder can thrive with self-reliance, purpose, and the unwavering security of a strong, intergenerational community network.
